Where in the World Wednesday: Dallas, Texas
Between the Rangers being in town and the resort to which I was headed being one of luxury, I couldn’t have been more excited! What I didn’t realize is that Dallas is big…..like really big. What that meant for me very quickly was that my trip to the Rangers game was going to end up being a $60 cab ride each way and when figuring in tickets and food, suddenly my fun little venture was going to put a $200 unplanned expense in the budget…. plus they were playing Seattle…so meh…
Fortunately for me, I happen to be staying at the 4 Seasons, Las Colinas containing the course that hosts the Byron Nelson Classic Golf Tournament. This opened a whole new world of entertainment possibilities! I could play a course (not well obviously) that the pros play…. well except for that whole lightening issue. Almost as if clockwork, the minute I was done working for the day, the sky would light up with ferocious bolts of light. As spectacular as it was to watch, it definitely put a damper in my entertainment goals. I still was able to walk through the museum and see some pretty incredible golf memorabilia from days of old… but alas, no actual playing….
With no prospect of any major outside entertainment, I made do with the beautiful scenery that was the pool, the stunning marble in my room, various glasses of wine, 50 Shades of Grey (review and thoughts to come) and a Texas twist on my favorite treat of blue cheese stuffed olives….enjoy…
